'Metta' is a Sanskrit word which translates into loving-kindness. Metta Effect™ is a volunteer group founded on the principle of loving-kindness and helping others free of charge. The volunteer work is funded by the volunteers ourselves and we hope to expand the kinds of services we offer whenever possible. Volunteerism is a genuine way of helping others without soliciting donations or charging those who benefit. We encourage you to tour our site and contact us if there is something we can do for you, or if you'd like to volunteer with us!

To celebrate the day Denise, one of our wonderful volunteers, came into this world, we'll be distributing summer homeless carepacks!! And then we'll wine and dine in the lovely city by the bay.

Denise carrying some homeless care packs for distribution

We just distributed homeless carepacks for the winter and were so touched by the gentle souls on the receiving end. Some of them even gave us hugs because they have nothing else to give--and a hug from the heart is absolutely the greatest gift! As we drove away from one man, he was opening the holiday greeting card we included and you could read the large word "JOY" from afar...wish we could have taken a picture!
