Writing to prisoners in the U.S. is an effective way to exercise the act of loving-kindness. Many prisoners become lonely and despair of their situation. Although they are aware of their convictions and are willing to serve the time for their misdeeds, they also want moral support from someone who will not judge them and share in their experience of recovering.
